Re: Military Court Sends CO to Prison

...well said tsukoui, our acts, and our letters define what these MEPs will be, whatever they are (now). if there is a strong reaction, an organised segment of a population, any politician takes that into consideration with his representations. as Cypriots, we can profit from making our demands accordingly, representing ourselves as Cypriots, Individuals whose concern are the Universal Principals on which our Freedom is based. one will hope that as Persons, Greek Cypriots may see the value of a Greek Constituency, if at another level of Government there existed National Assemblies where Citizens, as Cypriot Constituencies secured this Liberty, by sustaining their distinct identities respectfully toward the minorities that live among them, in effect by being closer to the taxes they pay.

...erolz, unless you are a "Turk", or a "Greek", in my opinion there is the need to defend the alternative, that "they" are in a larger set of People, called Cypriots. in all the years i've posted, as you know, i have tried to demonstrate that this possibility exists, because in the realm of possibilities it is the one none of us should discount, or deny. whatever the grievances we may have with each other on this Forum, Cyprus deserves better than picking "sides", and based on "their" opinions, scoring points for "your" side. i suggest as food for thought that you are a powerful writer, and all of us may benefit, if your efforts did not appear to be so personal, and beside its caustic nature, enriching. i applaud bill for his ability to bring subjects to this Forum we can consider, this one is another where the Truth is defined by the questioning of authority, and it is in my mind very hopeful, like many other he's found to talk about, they represent Turkish Cypriots we can support, and emulate.

...i'm late pushing the send button, (i think the post above says it all), good news, thanks bill.

Where is Turkey going: thinking the unthinkable

http://cyprus-mail.com/2014/11/16/where-is-turkey-going-thinking-the-unthinkable/

.

...wow, enjoyed reading this article, factual and concise.
Indeed, those of us who stayed, who did not flee, because we believed that the Universal Principals that make countries like Turkey, and Cyprus, great, would be respected, paid the heaviest price. Never mind those of us with missing relatives, either from '63, or '74, not "Greek", not "Turkish", but because we are Cypriot, denied a voice, as such, the debate having been framed that way.
What does the Flag of Turkey represent? Why should the Flag of Cyprus represent anything different? The "Turks" of Turkey should be careful what they wish for, lest the template they create for Cyprus divides them from the Kurds (let's not mention the Armenians, Alevi, Greeks, of Turkey) who are the other founding constituency of the Modern Turkish State, and who, without Ataturk could not realise his goal.
...i ask, where is a Cypriot Flag that flies in the north, why is this forbidden?
...i ask, why not a Greek Constituency, and as equals other Cypriot Constituencies, for the self representation of people as Persons, equal because as Citizens, there is a flag that flies higher than these, they also vote for the Government of their Republic, as Individuals. And geographically, Bizonal does not describe an island torn in two, it describes a single Sovereignty, where within there can be many (or more than one) zones Jurisdictionally.
Like the "Greeks", the "Turks" will go too far, it is only a matter of time in my opinion, because it is the nature of such Criminal Psychopaths, from their Ignorance to eventually fail against the rest of us who see ourselves, first, as Human Beings.
Isolated as it is, an island after-all, and to Turkey's elite, no more than a backwater or a barrack, still, with the plunder that has gone on for over forty years, it is natural to be able to identify within its culture, so ignored, (one hopes) an essential essence in stark contrast to men like Erdogan.

...even the 'Big Bang' now that its center has been found cannot be explained, without the assumption that there is no, no God.

...consider, with our birth death begins, show me a birth that does not end so, even mountains return to sand (and into the magma), when you die therefore, isn't it reasonable to assume we return to something everlasting (from where we came from)? consider the rock that is pitched or hewn, does its life end as a rock beyond this being transformed, and what of the planet made of rock, (where it will return) is it too a living thing, its rock is a crust we know little about, and inside, the core beyond beyond us, its mantle that boils, is it not unlike other planets, like cells, or atoms, always evolving, beyond an easy comprehension, as a quantity not easy to count, and to keep them just as they are (i like to think, nearly) impossible. I believe rocks sing, too, i believe we share with all things the harmony vibrations create, and i act accordingly, because if we listen, we can hear what other creatures hear/feel, beyond the sounds we make; lowly that we are, trapped within reason, this Grace.

...i sit sometimes with a man of Irish decent, a Greek, who is still a believer in the Gods before Christianity. Baptised Greek Orthodox, he has reconciled his Faith, that there is despair in Heaven as on Earth, that there is one God indeed, but that there must be gods for such a condition to exist.

Israel must help Gazans, regardless of Hamas

...one can hope that new thinking will find its way to expression. (perhaps a change of intention or attitude of mind). Have we learned the lesson of the Great War, or any of the wars which followed; Lest we Forget? There are bigger enemies to fight with all the Hatred that we have, like Hunger, Disaster, Ignorance and Disease: these are real enemies. We should not be fighting each other.
Perhaps my expectations for the Israelis is too high, but they are a creative People, and survivors. (Guns exist, so does Butter). If I may remind the Leadership in this conflict that Love is the infinite power with which we serve with Grace, by its giving, and that there is, one, God.

...and what is, the way? and what of fear in God, alone? I say the Gnostics got it right, Law of Entropy and all, here is death, where everything comes to an end, yet within a greater cycle seemingly endless like the stars, we were born, we die accordingly. if what was, is what is, with death we return to where we came from.

who is loving, believing in Love's infinite power, is Muslim; one who submits to God's Will.

Re: Why are there so many GC elderly men with young philipin

...respectfully, why does it exist? we are a tourist destination. and as a norm, one imagines sex at its extreme is a pleasure closely associated to the "good life".

the little boys and girls we are talking about, are adults, one hopes. one also hopes that in the social circles which have grown to carnal proportions, there is still a respect for Human dignity, as children protected, the nurturing we share in whatever case, enriching because as acts they are loving. this is, as a bigger picture, possible, perhaps to compare so called TC, and GC elderly men; to make better men.

anathema to the Grace which defines the Universal spirit, that in life, as beings, we share, the objectification of others no different to you. i my mind there is nothing wrong in a young person and an older person living in a loving complicity, i will not judge, although i am willing to fight and stand-up against plunder.
