Cypriot flag couple feel abandoned by Anastasiades

...there is no shame in having a mother-tongue, nor to recognise and respect the fact that for the most part, people are Grecophones, and that Turcophones, as Persons, have the same needs in sustaining a distinct identity (so too Maronites speaking Arabic), in Cyprus; we all speak English.

...a Cypriot identity, in my mind, welcomes diversity, the greater choices, and opportunities, that it brings. Cyprus is a cross-road to three Continents, Cypriots have excelled throughout their History as facilitators of exchange, let's not forget; indeed there is, The bicommunal Technical Committee on Education, started recently, tasked by Mr. Akinci, and Mr. Anastasiades, to find ways that the educational system can become more effective in transforming the fears which divide Cypriots, into identifiable enemies, if you will, like xenophobia, racism, 'ethnicism', extremism, and/or discrimination.

...it would be a good thing for a student to pick a "mother-tongue" from a list and learn it well; everyone in Cyprus should have the opportunity to learn English well, (and other languages,) as well. Beyond that, in my Cyprus, i would hope that our Institutions can accept the challenge that they themselves can continue to grow in aptitude, with a growing number of Official Languages.
