...what is Turkey is changing before our eyes. There will be a time where Turks will have to decide what that means. "Turkishness" as it is defined by "Turks" is not Turkish, witness those not "Turkish" how they suffer, without Peace.
...in Cyprus, Turkish people have an opportunity to express their sentiment, "Turks", or something more than that, as Human beings. One Cyprus, like one Turkey is not so hard to understand, both States based on Universal Principals, both more than just "being", "Turkish" or "Greek". Cyprus, is, a National issue for Turkey, the Turkish people need this help from Cypriots ending the Problem.

Eastern Mediterranean starting to resemble disputed South China Sea

...what "Greeks" do in my mind is not Greek, nor is it, the way. It is not unlike the "Turks", and how they treat those not "Turkish".
I learned respect and trust in my village, although as you say, it was the British which identified it as "mixed", it did not matter to us.
Greek and Turkish, we are Cypriot, that is true today where once a year this village meets in Larnaca as it was then, as some of the most socialised people on this planet. There is no shame in saying it, Cypriots exist, I am Cypriot. And i do not forget that those who died, murdered and made to disappear, victims of thugs and troops without discipline, were not "Greeks" or "Turks", they did not fight for "Them", but at their hands for "being" Cypriot..
"This" must stop. It is what i think. You may be right about what was natural, then. Cyprus is Greek, by population overwhelmingly, a Turkish minority whose needs are recognised as Citizens of Greece would have been perhaps more useful to Mankind's efforts in becoming Human. I will not disagree with you.Today "Turkishness" is tearing Turkey apart, as it did in Cyprus decades ago.

...how few among the dead, died as "Greeks" and "Turks" fighting each other.
Who died, stayed. In effect because they are Cypriots, they were murdered.
...in a "mixed" village like Komi Kebir, it is (still) possible to find neighbours who are as eager to see their neighbour's return.
...recall in your own lives, those you fear, those you like, those you love, you share with, those you hate, and why.
Indeed, there are doors that are closed, that were closed, in this village, those likely through greed who fear.
...who live hateful lives, where their love is a possession that is their's, not an infinite power with which they may serve?

Turkey and Cyprus back in European court over family’s murder
http://cyprus-mail.com/2018/02/28/turkey-cyprus-back-court-familys-murder/
.
Are Elmas Guzelyurtlu, his wife, and daughter, martyrs to a "Turkish" political cause? It seems so, because they are Turkish Cypriots (read: "Greek").
This ideological straight-jacket, ignores fundamental rights. And this case is an example more obvious than most. They, the authority in the occupied part of Cyprus, are unwilling to respect anything more than "Turkishness". Not just as Cypriots do they fail the rest of us, who are not "Turkish"; not as "Turks" but in "being" Turkish, they fail themselves.
The world is watching. After the decades, on so many levels, this ignorance has left these people isolated, as "Turks" forced to go against any sense that beyond "it", nothing is relevant, or more relevant. "They", those who impose their insistence that Cyprus, Cypriots, do not exist, are a scourge to "us".
