...what "Greeks" do in my mind is not Greek, nor is it, the way. It is not unlike the "Turks", and how they treat those not "Turkish".
I learned respect and trust in my village, although as you say, it was the British which identified it as "mixed", it did not matter to us.
Greek and Turkish, we are Cypriot, that is true today where once a year this village meets in Larnaca as it was then, as some of the most socialised people on this planet. There is no shame in saying it, Cypriots exist, I am Cypriot. And i do not forget that those who died, murdered and made to disappear, victims of thugs and troops without discipline, were not "Greeks" or "Turks", they did not fight for "Them", but at their hands for "being" Cypriot..
"This" must stop. It is what i think. You may be right about what was natural, then. Cyprus is Greek, by population overwhelmingly, a Turkish minority whose needs are recognised as Citizens of Greece would have been perhaps more useful to Mankind's efforts in becoming Human. I will not disagree with you.Today "Turkishness" is tearing Turkey apart, as it did in Cyprus decades ago.
